Notion InK Adam on track for Christmas in US
Notion Ink founder Rohan Shravan updated again today with word that the Adam tablet could ship to buyers before Christmas. FCC testing was still on track and already had basics like the power charger approved. If it didn't make December, the Adam would still likely arrive within the first few days of January, either just after New Year's or by CES.
The Indian developer added that most countries getting the Adam will have the option of ordering online. Notion Ink's early access program has also wrapped up and had over 6,800 entries, about 70 of which have already been picked. Its focus is relatively broad and has included people in areas as diverse as nuclear science.
Android 2.2 is still the stock OS from the start, but Shravan promised that upgrades could be available soon after the Adam is ready.
The Adam has been long in progress but is promised as a unique entry into tablets through its custom three-pane interface. Eden will let as many as three apps work side-by-side. Hardware will be current with other 10-inch tablets through a dual-core Tegra 2, but Notion Ink will have the option of a Pixel Qi 3qi display that should be more visible outside.
