HTC Incredible HD gets teased details

A well-known Verizon staffer provided three teasers (one, two, three) this weekend that gave strong clues the HTC Incredible HD could be one of the carrier's first 4G phones. While seeing the phone talking to an HTC supplier, black_man_x gave direct hints as to the phone's identity and its use of LTE for 4G. He also hinted the screen may go beyond the usual 480x800, since he could watch Verizon's NFL Red Zone video in HD.

The design is said to be the same one spotted by BGR without a concrete name (pictured here), but it's been "refined a bit" since it first showed up. As shown at the time, it would have a 4.3-inch screen, an eight-megapixel camera with a dual LED flash and an aluminum unibody design much like HTC's more upscale European models instead of the Droid Incredible's plastic. HTC would still have to use CDMA for voice since LTE is still limited to data.

A release date is still an unknown for the Incredible HD, but it would almost certainly launch on or after the 4G network launch at the end of the year. Verizon has said it might not have 4G phones until early 2011 and may reserve many of the introductions for its CES keynote in early January.
