Imitation Apple netbook runs Windows 7

China’s E-Stary has launched its Apple Macbook Air clone replete with optional Apple logo. An incarnation of Steve Jobs' worst nightmare, the HY118 is fitted with standard netbook specs including Intel Atom N270, 1GB RAM and a 160GB spinning hard drive.

The display is 1366x768 driven by either integrated Intel GMA 950 or 3150 depending on chosen level of specification. Its connectivity options include two USB ports, an Ethernet port and a 802.11 wireless card, while it weighs in at 2.97 pounds when fitted with its 2200mAh battery.

It is currently shipping in China for the equivalent of $260, although the Apple logo which typically comes at a premium for a genuine Apple product, will only cost a few dollars extra in this instance if optioned. [via thegadgetsite]

    Really?

Yet we keep exporting our manufacturing to China and teaching them how to improve quality of these knock-offs. Typical ... we fund our own problems.

    Pull out of China

If China is unable to stop counterfeiting, we (meaning Apple too) should pull out of China.
