SFR webOS 2.O Doctor reveals all
The HP Palm Pre 2 web0S 2.0 code has revealed the possibility of several more webOS 2.0 devices in the pipeline. A report by PreCentral details the findings uncovered by one of its members who sifted through the source code and found references to 'roadrunner', which is the internal Palm codename for what we now know as the Palm Pre 2. Joining 'roadrunner' are 'broadway', 'windsor', 'mantaray' and 'stingray'.
The reference to 'broadway' is thought to refer to the next generation Palm Pixi. The Pre 2 is currently only available in France on the SFR network, and as in the past, the Palm has released a webOS Doctor for the new webOS 2.0. The webOS 2.0 Doctor is used to reflash the source code in the Pre 2 should any software corruption occur that might cause the device to become unstable. An investigation of the webOS 2.0 code as available in the Doctor yielded the new codenames.
The new findings support rumors that HP Palm plans to ship at least five webOS 2.0 devices in the US over the course of 2011.
