Sony Reader Daily Edition now online, in stores
Sony has now made its Reader Daily Edition e-book reader available online and in Sony Style retail stores. The seven-inch device uses an e-paper touchscreen and gets Wi-Fi in addition to AT&T's 3G network access. Using either method, users can download e-books and magazines, while at the same time connect to Google, Wikipedia, Twitter, Facebook and news sources.
Users can also side-load documents or other content from other compatible sites over USB. The pages can be zoomed in on, contrast and brightness adjusted and multiple pages created to make them easier to view. Images can be downloaded for use as a screensaver.
Sony preloads the New Oxford American Dictionary, Second Edition and Oxford Dictionary of English eDictionaries, as well as 10 translation dictionaries in languages such as French, German, Spanish, Italian and Dutch. The Reader Daily Edition has 2GB of built-in memory and an SD card slot for up to 32GB more. It should sell for $300.
