Audiovox to ship first Blu-ray player for cars

At the CES Unveiled show in New York on Tuesday, Audiovox showed off what it calls the first automotive Blu-ray player. The device is made to mount not in the dash but remote locations such as under a seat or in the trunk. It includes its own infrared remote and a front USB port for iPods and other devices.

Video connections include HDMI, composite and component inputs. It still supports DVD playback. The Blu-ray player is still well away from release and ships in July for $349.
