First pictures show unique case design

The team at iFixit has already dissected Boxees' set-top box, which is built within a unique cube case that appears to stand on a flattened corner. The overall size is said to be much smaller than it appears in marketing images, but still much larger than an Apple TV box.

Internally, the Boxee Box provides a set of hardware components very similar to that of Logitech's Revue. Both devices share the same 1.2GHz Atom processor, Nordic transceiver, 1GB of DDR3 RAM, and several other minor chips.

iFixit notes that Boxee has chosen to integrate a dedicated digital-to-analog audio converter, enabling users to decode 1080p video while simultaneously sending the audio signal to analog audio equipment.

Boxee is already shipping pre-orders for its Box, while the retail launch is scheduled for November 17.
