Moto Citrus priced and dated for Verizon

Verizon today dated and priced its version of the Motorola Citrus. The entry-level phone we tested at CTIA will be in stores on Thursday and will have a low cost reflecting its features, at $50 after a $100 rebate and a two-year contract. Its version ships with Motorola's standard social networking layer on top of Android 2.1 but also forced Bing searching and Swype.

The device primarily trades display and processor performance to get to its price, using a 240x320, three-inch screen and a low-end processor to reach its goals. Motorola still gives the Citrus capacitive touch and has a three-megapixel but fixed-focus camera along with GPS and Wi-Fi. The most distinctive feature is a backside trackpad to use some features one-handed.
