ViewSonic has introduced several new products, including a pocket camcorder/projector, a 3D camcorder, and a 3D picture frame. The DVP5 pairs a 720p camcorder with a projector that is claimed to present content on a surface measuring up to 65 inches. Users can also capture 5-megapixel stills or project video and images from external devices via an AV jack.
The 3DV5 combines two 5-megapixel sensors to capture 3D 720p videos and 3D still images, while content can be previewed on the 2.4-inch LCD screen. Users can view 3D videos and images on standard computers using included software and red/cyan glasses. The 3D content is also compatible with standard 3D equipment based on NVIDIA's Vision technology.
Viewsonic's 3DPF8 picture frame allows users to view 3D images without the need for special glasses. The 8-inch, 800x600 frame automatically converts 2D stills for presentation with 3D effects.
The company has also introduced a digital photo copier, the DPF8-CAM, which converts print photos to digital format. Prints of various sizes are copied using a 5-megapixel camera, while the digital versions are display on the 800x600, 8-inch display.
All of the products are now shipping, with special discounts expected near the holidays. The DVP5 retails for $330, while the 3DV5 can be purchased for $180 and the 3DPF8 commands $180. The DPF8-CAM is available with an estimated price of $150.
