Set to debut at CES 2011

The uniquely designed ASUS Eee Tablet, first unveiled at Computex this year is set to be renamed and launched at CES 2011 according to a report. A couple of names have been mooted as possibilities with Eee Note being the most likely, although Digital Note has also been raised as a possibility. The device, which will not directly compete with e-readers, the iPad or Galaxy Tab can be used for reading text, but is also designed for highly accurate drawing and note-taking.

It centers on a 2,450DPI 8-inch 1024x768 greyscale display. In e-reading mode, it is capable of page turns in a tenth of a second and also incorporates a 2-megapixel camera for taking photos of subjects.

Its battery will last up to 10 hours on a charge and uses USB and microSD cards for moving information from device to device.

Pricing is expected to be sub-$600.
