Panasonic GF2 to hit Japan early with December 3 launch

Panasonic GF2 coming to Japan on December 3


Panasonic's Lumix GF2 Micro Four Thirds camera introduced at the start of November will soon arrive in Japan. Dated for December 3, the GF2 is expected to arrive stateside sometime in January. The camera, claimed to be the world's lightest with interchangeable lenses and of the Micro Four Thirds design, sports a three-inch touchscreen, a 23-point autofocus system and a 12-megapixel MOS sensor.

The camera should quickly replace the GF1 when it arrives, and has the ability to record 1080i video at 60fps or 720p video at the same frame rate.

The GF2 will be available in red, white or black, priced at the equivalent of about $720 in Japan, while a bundle with an f2.5 14mm lens costs nearly $960. A third option includes a 14-42mm lens and costs $1,080. The North American prices are expected to be significantly lower. [via Impress]
