Fix said to be underway
Apple TVs have been experiencing problems with some Sony and Philips TVs, owners claim. On affected sets, the appearance of video output is altered; some symptoms include inverted colors, an unusual green tint, or outright black screens. Even though complaints first began in October, the exact cause of the issue is still unknown.
A few affected TVs include the Sony Bravia KDL-37S500, and Philips' 32PFL7404H/12 and 56PFL9954H. Apple is said to be aware of the problem, to the extent that engineers are contacting Apple TV owners asking for more details. People who have contacted AppleCare are reportedly being told that a fix is coming, although when it might show up has not been mentioned.
