Dell Inspiron Duo to arrive in US on December 15

The convertible netbook that turns into a tablet that is the Dell Inspiron Duo has now popped up for pre-order on Dell's site. The 10-inch device starts at $550 and will ship beginning December 15. The major specs, as revealed at its introduction last week, include a dual-core Atom N550 CPU, Windows 7 Home Premium preloaded on the 250GB or 320GB hard drive, and 2GB of RAM.

Otherwise, the unique crossover gets Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0 and a 1.3-megapixel camera. Its 10.1-inch screen has 1366x768 resolution and responds to capacitive, multi-touch inputs. The netbook weighs about 3.4lbs. With the optional Audio Station dock, the price will be bumped up to $650. Users for the money will get two more USB 2.0 ports, an Ethernet adapter, 7-in-1 card reader and JBL speakers.

In the UK, the device will ship on December 2.
