Dell Venue Pro SIM card flaw among many issues

Dell's Venue Pro was hit by another major flaw late Monday as reports have emerged of an issue with the Windows Phone 7 device's SIM slot. At least one Microsoft retail store as well as readers on forums have reported many of the phones not recognize any SIM cards, rendering the devices useless. Out of an entire batch at the store, only one Venue Pro would get on to T-Mobile's network, TmoNews was told.

The major bug comes after an already acknowledged Wi-Fi connection flaw and a minor headphone jack issue. All three suggest that the touchscreen slider may have been rushed to make WP7's November 8 launch. Dell has already said it planned a wider launch later on, but it's not clear whether this was due to production numbers or quality issues.

Dell hasn't commented on the latest discovery.

    Get it together Dell

The Dell Venue Pro has had its shares of issues, but hopefully Dell can address and correct these soon.
@wrenchy The launch has not turned out to be a mess. There is no issues with the SD cards as they were never intended to be taken out of the phone. Doing so is blatantly against the known design, and you do so knowing that. The Samsung Focus requires a Windows Phone 7 certified SD card, if you don't use one of those then again it's on you for any issues. The Focus is a stunning phone, only plagued by AT&T's limited 2GB data usage plan. This is why everyone is waiting for the Dell Venue Pro. A stunning phone with T-Mobile's unlimited data plan (which is cheaper than AT&T's plan). Here's hoping that Dell can rectify all the issues shortly and produce the beautiful chrome and glass Venue Pro very soon.
