Nintendo to return to CES in 2011
Nintendo today said it would have a presence at the CES expo in January after a 16-year absence. The company plans to have a gaming showcase at the Las Vegas show and focus on the "hottest gaming trends." While it wouldn't give clues as to what would show, the 3DS is expected to be the centerpiece with a launch just weeks away, in March.
Rumors have persisted of a Wii sequel in development, but Nintendo has repeatedly denied any near-term plans and has also dampened talk of price cuts to fend off the PS3 and Xbox 360. Dropping Wii sales may push the company to step up any plans, but no leaks have emerged to suggest a console beyond the 3DS might be ready.
Nintendo hasn't publicized any keynotes or similar events that would suggest a major launch in store.
