Sony Reader app due for Android and iOS next month
Sony in a teaser has provided some of the first details of its promised Android and iPhone apps. The mobile Reader app will give users a way to shop from Sony's e-book store, with featured titles getting book covers, and the book browser itself will initially be visual. Reading itself should be as full-featured as on current Reader hardware with bookmarks, highlights and notes.
Both mobile apps should be available sometime in December. The company hasn't set out requirements or explained whether or not the iOS version will have native iPad support. Syncing should be common across all platforms.

Maybe I'll start using my Sony Reader again. I'm finding reading on the iPad is great as far as the screen goes but size and weight-wise, it's a bit much. (Aside: is eInk really much of an advantage? Honestly I originally thought it was, but now I'm thinking, maybe not?) My Sony Reader is much more convenient but useless without the ability to read on both devices.
I also hate the weird glow the iPad casts on your face when you're reading in a dark plane or bus. It's akin to telling a horror story with a flashlight under your chin.
