Microsoft Black Friday gives netbook with Office
Not normally known for its Black Friday deals, Microsoft today launched a promo that promises major giveaways, including for Mac users. The highlight is a free Dell Mini 1018 netbook with a copy of Office Home and Business 2010; the deal is an effectively half-off deal that gives both the 1.66GHz Atom notebook and the software for the price of one, at $280. Those just interested in a PC can also get an HP dm3 ultraportable for $399, or $250 off its usual asking price.
The company is also giving away a 16GB Zune HD with some PCs and is selling the Alienware M17x gaming notebook with Call of Duty: Black Ops, Flight Simulator X Gold Edition and a Sidewinder X5 mouse added in for free for the quad Core i7 system's $1,999 price.
It's also offering a $30 discount on Office Home and Student 2010 for Windows users and a $20 discount on Office for Mac 2011 at $130, although Apple's Black Friday Sale is selling Office for less at $128.
Gamers also get some significant deals highlighted by $20 price drops on Halo: Reach and Fable III as well as a similar discount on the Xbox 360 Wireless Headset. The Xbox 360 Chatpad is $10 off.
