Body Glove case for HTC Merge shows up in stores

An accessory case for the HTC Merge smartphone that's expected to be released anytime now has been spotted in a store. The soft case is made by Body Glove and its mere existence could indicate that the Android 2.2 handset is very close to a release date. It could also mean that the device has been delayed, as rumored, since it arrived before the phone itself.

When the smartphone does arrive, it will do so at Verizon, judging from earlier reports. At least one report maintains that the handset was delayed in order to add 4G network support to its list of features. Otherwise, the phone may sport a second-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, a 3.7-inch touchscreen LCD and a 5-megapixel camera. [via AndroidCentral]
