Windows Phone 7 update bringing copy/paste, multitasking?

updated 07:50 pm EST, Mon November 29, 2010

Updated rumored to be coming in January

Microsoft is allegedly preparing a "massive" update for Windows Phone 7 handsets, according to ChevronWP7 developer Chris Walshie. The update reportedly brings copy/paste functionality, multi-tasking support, and several Bing improvements such as turn-by-turn directions. Rumors suggest users will also be able to add custom ringtones.

"MS took 3 months to do what Apple did in 3 years," Walshie posted on Twitter. "Let's just say, they could have called it Windows Phone 8."

Microsoft has yet to confirm a feature list or launch date for the upcoming Windows Phone 7 update, but it is rumored to be on its way as early as January. [via WPCentral]

So it's an iPhone killer now?????

To say "MS took 3 months to do what Apple did in 3 years, seems to be a huge swiping statement, with a hole bigger enough to sink the Titanic. It's taken Microcopy 3 years to launch a half baked product (lets not mention the KIN), with numerous features missing from launch, missing copy/paste didn't seem to halt iPhone sales. Being a Developer, I would have thought he would be a bit better than a Microcopy mouthpiece, as Developers can't see how many of their apps have sold, since launch, daily or weekly, Developers won't get a penny until Feb 2011??? Why not? To hide the embarrassing low sales figures. After all it's taken Microcopy 6 months to launch just 3,000 apps. Apple have 300,000 and Android 100,000. As Microcopy got Developers writing for Winphones 6 months ago, and yet the low number of apps is just so funny for Steve Jobs and Google, that Winphones will be forgotten by March 2011. Even Symbian sales are beating Winphones.
