iPad extends reach to 10 more countries

Concentration stays on Europe, east Asia

Apple has formally debuted the iPad in 10 additional countries. In eastern Asia, the tablet is now available in Taiwan and South Korea, joining the likes of China and Japan. The remaining launches are all European, and include Denmark, Finland, Hungary, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Sweden and the Czech Republic.

Costs and carrier options can vary considerably from country to country. While the only Korean carrier for 3G iPads is KT, for example, in Taiwan people can choose between three different providers. Previously rumored Swedish prices for the iPad have now been clarified; retailer Media Markt is charging 4,690 SEK for a 16GB Wi-Fi model, and a maximum of 7,590 SEK for a 64GB 3G tablet.
