Runs Windows CE 6.0 PC/Mac compatible
Cowon has unveiled what it claims is the world’s first glasses-free 3D Personal Media Player, the Cowon 3D. The device runs Windows CE 6.0 and centers on a 4.8-inch 800x400 widescreen display. In addition to its 3D capability, it is also capable of 1080p output via its HDMI port.
In addition to media playback apps and a choice of two Flash capable web browsers including Opera Mobile, the Cowon 3D also includes Documents, Voice Recorder, and Dictionary apps.
Its wireless connectivity is limited to Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g), but its battery life extends to 45 hours for audio playback only, or 10 hours of video only. Its in-built Flash memory is available in 32GB or 64GB, which can also be expanded through its SD card slot. The device weighs in at 232 grams.
The Cowon 3D is compatible with Windows 7/Vista/XP/2000/ME, Mac OS X and Linux v2.4.
The device is being released in Korea on December 10 for the equivalent of $430 for the 32GB model or $510 for the 64GB version. [via Engadget]
