V13 revised and updated with new features

Dell has introduced a refresh to the earlier Vostro V13. The V130 is the first notebook to feature Intel’s new Hyperbaric cooling. Intel’s new thermal tech differs from most traditional cooling designs which use internal fans to push out hot air from the internals of a notebook. Instead, it uses an internal fan that draws air into the laptop that is channeled towards the CPU and other key components, keeping them cool. The air is drawn in from the left and is then expelled through the right allowing the notebook to remain cooler and run more quietly.

At its thinnest point, the V130 is only 0.65 inches at the front and 0.78 inches thick at the back. It is constructed from a combination of aluminum for the chassis with zinc hinges and a magnesium alloy palm rest.

Based on customer feedback from use of the V13, the new V130 adds an HDMI port and additional ports, which are now configured as two USB ports, a shared USB/eSATA port and a VGA port. WiMAX is a US-only option in addition to a built-in SIM card slot. Also available is the option to add USB 3.0 connectivity.

Users have a choice from a range of Intel’s CULV processors starting with a Core i3 1.33GHz through to a Core i5, also clocked at 1.33GHz, to power the PC.

The Dell Vostro V130 is available worldwide now from $429.
