Tablet surfaced at Intel press event
A new tablet based on the MeeGo operating system has surfaced at an Intel press event this week in Russia. Although details surrounding the device are unclear, it is built with an iPad-like glossy black bezel with a front-facing camera placed in the top corner.
It is unclear if the tablet is a prototype version of the Nokia Z500, which has been referenced in several leaks without pictures. The Linux-based MeeGo platform is a product of collaboration between Intel and Nokia. Other possible manufacturers include Acer, which recently confirmed a project to create a MeeGo tablet.
The tablet was shown alongside an Atom-based smartphone, which appeared to carry the same "Hi/Lo Vibrant" label as Aava's developer handset in a recent demo of the mobile OS. [via Engadget]
