Xbox Live Rewards program goes live today

Microsoft has just unveiled a new Xbox Live Rewards program that will let Xbox users earn Microsoft Points for doing what they already do. The points can be earned by watching movies and sports, playing games and buying specific titles. Signing up for Xbox Live membership allows users to earn more points.

Microsoft's points translate directly into money that can be redeemed in the Xbox Live store, with 400 points equating to $5. The full list of points rewards is available in the chart below.

The program is only available for UK and US Xbox Live members and goes live today. [via MajorNelson]
