Flip users can send video greeting cards

Flip video camcorder users will soon be able to download the latest update to their FlipShare software (either the Mac software or the pre-loaded in-camera version) and create free video greeting cards using templates for Christmas, Hanukkah and other holidays, developer Cisco has announced. The software now offers 40 all-new templates, improved private sharing features including comments for friends and family.

The video greeting cards can be made and sent at no cost, and Facebook users can use a special Facebook version of the app that can use footage from other devices that is posted to a user's Facebook page. The computer and camera versions can also import contacts from online email accounts such as GMail, Hotmail, Yahoo and AOL.

The updated Flipshare software is available on current models in stores, and will be available for previous buyers beginning December 15th. Desktop users of FlipShare will be automatically prompted to update the software when it becomes available. The Facebook video greeting card app is available starting today.
