Pentax makes limited-edition run of K-r DSLRs
Pentax has responded to customer demand for a concept by announcing it will soon release a limited run of specially multi-colored versions of its K-r DSLR camera. The camera's specs remain the same as the regular version, though it's paired with a new 35mm, f2.4 prime lens. Its hotshoe also houses a robot head that exists primarily for the purpose of aesthetics.
The 12.4-megapixel camera has a fast, 6FPs shooting mode for 25 shots in a row, an ISO 25,600 sensitivity ceiling and a high-resolution, three-inch LCD. It can record 720p video as well. The lithium-ion battery pack can be replaced by four AA batteries on short notice for a vacation or a long photo session.
The special edition K-r will ship sometime in January, with preorders beginning on December 24, priced at the equivalent of $1,075. Only 100 examples will be available and are so far only due to arrive in Japan. [via Impress]
