Acer ships Revo 100 home theater nettop to the UK
Acer's Revo 2 nettop, introduced at the IFA in late summer, is now arriving in Europe. The multimedia nettop supports Acer's Clear.fi home networking system and is renamed the Revo 100 instead of the Revo RL100 for Euro duty. Processing power comes from a dual-core AMD Athlon II Neo CPU paired with NVIDIA's Ion for 1080p HD playback.
Clear.fi can share multimedia files with other Acer devices and users control it all with a Revopad dual-mode wireless touchpad that sits inside the nettop. The Revopad doubles as a touch keyboard or multi-gesture touchpad.
Higher-end models of the device are available with a built-in TV tuner or Blu-ray drive. These premium models get 4GB of DDR3 RAM rather than 2GB, a hard drive of up to 750GB capacity rather than the base version's 160GB drive, and an HDMI out plus three USB ports. A multi-format card reader is built in and both wireless and wired LAN interfaces are present. Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS is preloaded.
The Revo 100 is now shipping in the UK, starting at £600(about $950) for the base version. When a North American version is due remains to be seen. [via TheInquirer]
