Devs out buggy, unofficial Android 2.3 for Evo 4G

While the first official handset running on Android 2.3 will be the Nexus S, as announced just yesterday, developers are hard at work trying to bring the OS to other devices. They are targeting the HTC Evo 4G specifically and an early build of the OS is available, though it is said to be extremely buggy at this point. Users can download beta ROM from the XDA Developers Forum.

A near 59MB build 4 is also available with a fix to a forcing close of the phone and some other issues resolved. Users are warned not to download the firmware unless they have a programming background and aim to help out in the development process of the software. [via BriefMobile]
