Sony Ericsson Z1 may ship by CeBIT in March

The Sony Ericsson Z1 could ship as soon as March, a rumor hinted on Tuesday. Unnamed sources had the PlayStation phone shipping in March, making it a likely candidate to show at the CeBIT expo in Germany early that month. It would still be unveiled in February but could have a relatively quick turnaround, ITProPortal said.

A handful of specs also emerged that would mostly confirm existing details, including 512MB of RAM and a 3.7-inch display. An 8GB microSDHC card would provide the initial storage for games. Earlier tips have pointed to the phone using a 1GHz Snapdragon processor and a five-megapixel camera with flash. Android 2.3 will come standard, possibly running stock, with a special PlayStation app to browse and load games suited to the PSP Go-style controls.

Carrier deals haven't slipped out so far, but the phone may cost $500 unlocked. If true, the rumor may have supported rumors that it wouldn't include the PSP name at all and instead just refer to the PlayStation name.
