Upcoming gaming rig scores 20155 on 3DMarks

Benchmarks for the forthcoming R3 (Revision 3) Alienware M17x have been leaked ahead of its release. Confirming earlier rumors, the gaming rig will feature the AMD Radeon 6900M as well as an alternative option for the GeForce GTX 460M. The benchmarks show the R3 M17x scoring 20155 on the 3DMarks test with the AMD Radeon 6900M option fitted.

Among the details confirmed in the latest leak are that the R3 M17x will have Intel’s quad-core Core i7 2720QM clocked at 2.2GHz as an option and will be fitted with at least 4GB of RAM.

Rumored for the R3 is a 3D display as an option for Blu-ray games and movies that support the format and an improved 9-cell 93Wh battery. Based on the spy shots, there do not appear to be any major design changes over the current R2 model, while launch details are also still to emerge. [via Notebook Review]
