T-Mobile to bring HSPA+ tablets next year
T-Mobile on Friday sent out a statement to media advising that it plans on bringing out tablets compatible with its HSPA+ network in 2011. This not only includes smartphones and tablets, but also what it calls emerging devices. It then goes on to say it will offer 4G tablets in the new year, though T-Mobile is including its HSPA+ network in the definition of 4G.
The devices are expected to include Android tablets, though some Windows 7-powered gear and potentially RIM's BlackBerry PlayBook could be included as well.
Earlier this year, T-Mobile also promised to boost the speed of the network by a factor of two, from 21Mbps to 42Mbps. It's uncertain whether any non-modern devices will reach the higher speeds, however. [via BGR]
