Bst Buy expands iPad sales to online shop
Best Buy expanded the reach of its iPad sales this weekend by offering them through its online store. The big-box chain is now selling both Wi-Fi and 3G versions in all capacities. Prices are virtually identical to those at other outlets but are currently accompanied by a 20 percent off sale on some accessories,
The retailer had previously been limited to selling the iPad at some of its physical stores, limiting their reach. Its presence at the stores has been indirectly attributed to the decline of netbooks at retail in the US and may also widen the reach of the iPad for those who might not have been exposed to the online Apple Store but aren't within a reach of an existing physical outlet.
Apple has been rapidly expanding its retail distribution this fall as its supply has been catching up with demand. The tablet maker has already opened sales to Target and Walmart in wider retail as well as AT&T and Verizon carrier stores.
