Android Voice Search tailoring to personal speech

Google today updated Voice Search on Android phones to recognize individual users. A new option will pick up speech patterns based on a user's history of voice searches and gradually learn to better understand the commands over time. All of the results are attached to a Google account and can come back even when the user switches phones.

The addition is strictly optional and can be turned off as well as removed from the account altogether. Other additions bring faster recognition of proper names over the cellular network.

Initially, the feature will only work with English and in the US. Voice Search gets the addition through an Android Market update but needs at least Android 2.2 to work. Support for voice in the Google Mobile App on the iPhone hasn't received an update.
