Novatel MiFi 4082 for Sprint reaches FCC

The previously only hinted at Novatel MiFi 4082 for Sprint has surfaced in an FCC filing posted today. The hotspot both has 4G through Sprint's WiMAX network and for 3G over EVDO. A diagram shows a device that isn't fundamentally different than the existing 3G-only MiFi.

No clues as to the launch details have surfaced. Based on Sprint's own release schedule, the new MiFi should ship on January 30. It may be a candidate for a CES introduction alongside the HTC Evo Shift 4G and an updated version of the Samsung Airave femtocell. [via Engadget]
