5-inch Android smartphone/tablet discounted

Best Buy has listed the Dell Streak Android smartphone/tablet hybrid for $100 upfront on a two-year contract. The device recently received an over-the-air update to Dell’s customized ‘Stage UI’ version of Android 2.2. This firmware update brought with it additional features such as Swype text entry and the ability for the interface to function in both landscape and portrait modes.

The Streak incorporates a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 512MB RAM, Adrena 200 graphics, a GPS chip, front and rear cameras, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, and Wi-Fi. Its display has a resolution of 800x480 pixels.

When it was launched, the Dell Streak was retailing for $700 off contract, making the current deal an attractive time to buy the device before it is replaced by the next generation of dual-core smartphones and tablets.
