Palm said to be readying several 2011 devices

Palm is reportedly readying a new smartphone that could be set to launch as early as next month. The leaked information, which was posted on PreCentral, allegedly comes from an internal meeting with Todd Bradley of HP's Personal Systems Group. The device is said to represent the "smallest smartphone ever available."

Separate rumors suggest the company is also set to introduce a successor to the Pixi, which is said to be headed to the French carrier SFR sometime next month. It is unclear if the rumored Pixi 2 is the same device referenced in the employee meeting.

Bradley was also quoted as saying HP will ship a new smartphone every two months, starting now and continuing throughout 2011.

HP recently filed several trademarks that were viewed as potential names for upcoming webOS handsets. Unconfirmed reports suggest the Gyst, Myte and Veer terms could represent the official labels for devices using the current codenames Mantaray, Stingray, and Windsor.

HP has yet to publicly confirm any specific details regarding its upcoming smartphones. It remains unclear if the company plans to introduce a new device at CES in January.
