TV available in 42-inch class

Panasonic has unveiled a new Viera television, the G3, that allows users to record to removable media. The 42-inch TV provides an SD slot and USB port, each serving as a potential destination for live video recording in HD or SD resolutions. Users can expect five to eight hours of 1080p recording on a 64GB SDXC card.

Aside from the recording capabilities, the G3 also features full LED backlighting, VIERA Link support, and support for AVCHD content from video cameras.

The G3 is expected to launch in February for 150,000 yen (~$1,787 USD). It is unclear if the TV will be headed to the US market at the same time as the Japanese launch. [via Akihabara and AV Watch]
