Foursquare's photos, commetns go live on iPhone

Foursquare 2.2 brings photos and comments

Foursquare as anticipated posted an updated iPhone app (free, App Store) that adds photo support. Members can now snap photos associated with a check-in either as a memoir or to help friends. Friends can also comment on photos attached to an area.

Reflecting the change, a history section on the Foursquare website lets users see all the photos and comments associated with past check-ins.

The update is so far limited to the iPhone and iPod touch. Foursquare hasn't said whether it will have an iPad app or when apps for Android, BlackBerry and Windows Phone 7 will get the new features.
