Launch confirms previous rumors

HP has confirmed that the Palm Pre 2 handset is set to launch in Canada through Rogers. Several early leaks suggested the webOS 2.0 device would eventually arrive at the carrier, although the companies declined to provide a specific release date.

The latest Pre variant brings a much faster processor running at 1GHz, along with a give-megapixel camera. Users can also take advantage of a 480x320 touchscreen, GPS receiver and 16GB of integrated storage.

The Pre 2 is now available through Rogers for $100 with a three-year contract, $350 when tied to a two-year agreement, $400 with a single-year term, or $450 without a contract.
