Bang & Olufsen Beo6 remote gets Wi-Fi, macros
Bang & Olufsen has introduced a new version of its home theater system remote, the Beo6. It replaces the Beo5 and, most significantly, adds Wi-Fi for a cable-free control of the Bang & Olufsen system. Users interface through the square glass display with soft touch keys and an aluminum ball with tactile keys and a volume wheel.
The screen will display menus from the TV, along with station logos. Other rooms in multi-zone setups can also be controlled through the Beo 6. Programmable macros let users perform relatively simple tasks such as switching sources on multiple devices or dimming the lights and rolling down curtains and more in anticipation of a movie viewing in a home automated setup.
The Beo6 will be available in aluminum or gold, with black accents, though pricing and ship dates haven't been revealed.
