Samsung releases Android 2.2 for Galaxy S in UK

Samsung UK has announced through a tweet that it has made the Android 2.2 software update for the Galaxy S handset available on its support site. The UK update trails other European countries, such as Sweden, Denmark and Norway, by over two months and applies to all networks. The new OS brings Samsung's tweaked TouchWiz interface, Flash 10.1 support and improvements to the assisted GPS.

Other new features include pinch-to-zoom on the home screen, a new default keyboard, better Exchange support and a new Gmail app.
