What did you get for Christmas?

Christmas 2010 present comments

Those of us marking Christmas today have very likely received technology gifts as presents. We'd like to start a new tradition and ask: what technology did you get as presents this year? Let us know in the comments, and we'll provide a brief sample of our gifts after the story break.

Our gifts have so far been highlighted by a new Apple TV. We practiced what we preached and wished for one, not just for the iTunes and Netflix video but for the current and future AirPlay support. We also picked up the older but very capable Garmin nuvi 1350; it has a moderate 4.3-inch screen but also has lifetime maps and traffic.

    Twelve drummers drumming,
    Eleven pipers piping,
    Ten lords a-leaping,
    Nine ladies dancing,
    Eight maids a-milking,
    Seven swans a-swimming,
    Six geese a-laying,
    Five golden rings,
    Four calling birds,
    Three French hens,
    Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree!

    Not much

Basically, my Yuletide loadout includes some shirts, a copy of The Laramie Project, and about $700 for spending on various tech. I'm planning on purchasing parts to build a gaming Hackintosh.

    Retro bluetooth handset

I got an awesome red "retro" bluetooth handset for my iPhone... like on the old Bell table phones, huge handset -- but bright red and cordless! Fun -- from ThinkGeek.

    Got a Nano here

Been loving the new nano. I also unexpectedly got a new TV. I got a stack of games, turned on my TV for the first time in months, and it fizzled and blacked out, with badly inverted colors. eCost saved me with a stupid good special on a 1080p 22" LCD TV, couldn't have been better.
