Toshiba outs firmware update for Folio 100 tablet

Toshiba has now released its long-needed firmware update for its Android-powered Folio 100 tablet. The software, 2.2.5.0053, should address the significant responsiveness and multimedia processing issues that were serious enough to make UK retailers pull it from shelves for some of the repeated quality complaints. Other than the lag fixes, the touchscreen responsiveness and video processing have been improved, and it introduces a pinch-to-zoom multi-touch feature.

What's missing from the update is Flash Player 10.1, which is available but needs to be installed separately and manually. Those who have installed the update are also reporting that the 10-inch tablet continues to go into deep sleep mode without permission and requires a reboot to make it work again.
