Will feature AMOLED screen, HDMI-out

Cowon has confirmed more details for its D3 Plenue, its first media player with Android rather than its own OS. The Android 2.1-based player is also confirmed to have a 3.7-inch, 800x480 AMOLED touchscreen display and enough performance for 1080p video playback. The D3 will feature 802.11g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 and HDMI out. The company claims the device is VoIP-capable.

The D3 will be available with 8GB, 16GB and 32GB internal storage capacities and will accept a microSD card for more. The player will have the now-familiar motion sensor and vibration feedback as well as an internal FM radio. The player will have 39 EQ presets and will ship preloaded with Cowon's own e-book reader and Twitter apps.

The player will be available in purple and black, and will ship with Cowon's SE2 earphones. The company has not announced a formal launch date or pricing. It will be available initially in Korea, but most Cowon players find their way to the US and other countries. [via OLED-Display]
