Samsung Epic 4G's Android 2.2 update delayed

updated 05:20 pm EST, Wed December 29, 2010

Android 2.2 for Epic 4G coming soon, but delayed

The expected Android 2.2.1 update to the Samsung Epic 4G that was supposed to be released on December 26 has been delayed. It's not known why the update was delayed. The leaked internal memo has now been followed up with another one that tells Sprint employees to refute the rumors on the Internet and that a date has not been set.

The new memo only says the update will be available in the near future. The update will bring with it Flash Player 10.1, improvements to the GPS, voice dialing through Bluetooth and improved Bluetooth device support. Apps can also be installed to memory cards rather than locally. Unofficial estimates put the upgrade in January. [via UnwiredView]
