HTC Evo Shift 4G already on Walmart store

Any doubts about the listing for the Sprint phone on its store. The WiMAX-capable Android slider is now known to be using Android 2.2. Some details appear to have been mistakenly lifted from the Evo 4G; the device uses a 3.7-inch screen and not a 4.3-inch display, and it uses a five-megapixel camera instead of the original Evo 4G's eight.

Although not mentioned at Walmart, the Evo Shift 4G should have a newer 800MHz Snapdragon like that on the T-Mobile G2. The primary downgrade should be the lack of a front camera.

Pricing and an in-store date haven't been mentioned, but Sprint is near certain to unveil the phone this week and should ship it on January 9. Radio Shack listed the phone as costing $150 on contract in its advance flyer. [via Engadget]
