New MetroPCS 4G plans start at $40, down from $55

MetroPCS on Monday revealed new rates for its non-contract 4G LTE service. The basic plan starts at $40 and includes YouTube access and what MetroPCS calls unlimited web browsing, though some web browsing features aren't included. The $50 plan adds 1GB of additional data access for such features.

Also included in the $50 plan are turn-by-turn navigation, international text messaging, access to corporate e-mail accounts and limited access to multimedia through MetroSTUDIO. The $60 tier adds unlimited access to MetroSTUDIO's 18 channels of on-demand video content.

Previously, the lowest-cost LTE offering from MetroPCS was priced at $55. MetroPCS currently offers its 4G LTE service in nine metropolitan areas.
