Iomega outs TV with Boxee, SuperHero iPhone Dock

Iomega today brought out a pair of media devices stepping outside of its usual space. The Iomega TV with Boxee is the first dedicated Boxee device outside of D-Link's Boxee Box and tries to improve on the formula with permanent storage options: versions with 1TB and 2TB of storage are available to hold a personal collection. The hub can accordingly serve as a DLNA media server, not just a receiver.

It still uses Intel's Atom CE4100 and supports 1080p video, 802.11n Wi-Fi and Ethernet. Boxee's signature trick of a two-sided remote with keyboard also persists, although the design is now much more conventional and stacks more easily in a home theater than the iconic original design. Prices start out at the same $230 for a version dependent solely on Internet and network sources, moving up to $300 for a 1TB disk and $350 for 2TB. All of them ship in February.

The SuperHero in turn is one of the few backup options for iOS devices. The dock will backup contacts and photos from an iPhone or iPod touch to an SDHC card using a custom Iomega app. It can't yet backup apps or media due to iOS limits but does have a line-out for audio.

Iomega bundles a 4GB card in the box and will ship for $70 at an unspecified point.
