Offer easy uploading to social media sites

Kodak announced two new HD pocket video cameras, the ultraslim Playfull and the rugged Playsport. Both are autofocus cameras with digital image stabilization and smart face-tracking, and take full 1080p HD video and 5-megapixel still photos. A dedicated Share button activates built-in software for easy uploading via USB to PC or Mac to popular social media sites like Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and Flickr. The Share function also works with international social media sites Orkut, Yandex, and Kainxin001.

Both cameras have on-camera editing to extract still pictures from video and add basic photo effects such as sepia, black-and-white, and 70s film look treatments. An SD/SDHC card slot that allows expansion up to 32GB.

The Playfull is an ultraslim design that includes a USB arm for in-camera charging and file transfer. The camera is small enough to fit easily into a jeans pocket. It will be available in silver, blue-silver, purple-silver and blue-black.

The Playsport features enhanced low-light performance, and is shockproof, dustproof, and waterproof to a depth of ten feet. Its 2in. LCD screen adjusts automatically to changing lighting conditions. The Playsport is designed to complement more active lifestyles, such as snowboarding, snorkeling, and mountain biking. The Playsport will be available in black, red, green, white and aqua.

Kodak expects both cameras will be available in spring 2011 at major retailers and Kodak.com. The Playfull will retail for $150, and the Playsport for $180.
