Acer outs AG3600 Predator desktop for mainstream gamers

Acer adds entry-level Predator gaming desktop


Acer has added a new Aspire Predator-series desktop for casual and mainstream gamers. Called the AG3600, it uses a 2.8GHz Intel Core i5 CPU and NVIDIA's 2GB GeForce GT 420 graphics card. The latest and most entry-level in the Predator lineup, it sports a design with a 45-degree slope on the front that houses four USB ports, the power button, headphone and microphone jacks as well as the memory card readers.

The memory card will support 3D gaming and video and the system supports Microsoft's DirectX 11. Standard system RAM is 8GB, a DVD burner is equipped and a 1.5TB hard drive comes with each system. For audio, 5.1-channel systems are supported.

A carrying handle is part of the case's deisgn, and a cable managemet system is integrated.

Connections include three open PCI Express x1 slots, 10 USB ports in total, three audio jacks and a mini HDMI, DVI and VGA outputs.

The Predator AG3600 starts at $900, though shipping dates haven't been revealed.
